Why Is It Important to Sound Confident When You Speak?

Do you have issues getting your voice heard? Is it difficult to 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀, speaking person-to-person or in a group setting? Maybe you 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 to speak your mind and stand your ground.

These are common issues for a lot of people. Many times these things happen because you have good intentions. You are concerned that 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 if you say what you think. So you bite your tongue instead. You'd rather 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗲𝘀.

Perhaps this isn't your problem. You don't have any issues speaking up. Unfortunately, it seems like you 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 than everyone else. You know what you want to say and what you're thinking in your mind, but when you hear it come out of your mouth, it's not at all what you intended. You 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 to speak confidently, and in a way that's easily understood and accepted.

If you find it difficult to get people to listen to you, maybe you should work on your voice. It's not to say you don't have a pleasing or wonderful voice. We're simply saying that 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 might be the only thing you need to do to get people to start listening to you.

Live a life where people don't connect with you emotionally when you speak, and many doors are closed to you. You can literally and 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸.

We all sound different depending on the situation we're in. You can't help but use a different voice when giving a presentation to a hundred people than when chatting with a good friend in a private setting. The key to 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, which sounds the most pleasing and confident to your listeners, is to 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘁.

Self-improvement author and speaker Brian Tracy recommends 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. Then 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 to the results. This is a quick way to discover 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱. Then no matter what setting you're in, you think of the situation which lets you speak most powerfully and confidently.

You bring that up in your mind whenever you need to get your point across. Changing your voice this way can truly change your life. There are so many 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱. And you can tap into those benefits by 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
