Reward yourself along the way to help new habits stick

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 until you finish a project to celebrate, make sure you mark every milestone. For example, perhaps you completed a literature review or a consultation. Maybe you gave a presentation or received funding. Each is an 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, and you should celebrate each completed task.
If you recognize your effort, you build your success muscles. Embedding a 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 creates a virtuous cycle. You’ll find yourself eager to get onto the next task.
